EVENT #14: KEATON'S CANCER'S SPRING EVENT
Gill's Orchard | April 2, 2022
Yesterday, we drove out to Gill Orchard in Davis (for the second time!) to work with our wonderful partners Keaton's Child Cancer Alliance! Our craft for the day, relating to the theme of springtime and growth, was having both kids and teens plant flower seeds in a mini terracotta pot that they decorated. We had an amazing time playing games and talking with this creative team! Additionally, kids colored coloring pages designed especially for Made for More by the generous and incredibly talented Jen Armitage! The kids loved filling in these personal coloring pages that included a variety of topics such as wave breathing journaling, feelings and emotions check in, and a "get creative" drawing page! A huge thank you to her for all she has done for us! Be sure to check out her page on Instagram (@byjenarmitage)!

EVENT #6: HEARTS LANDING MOVIE NIGHT
Hearts Landing Ranch | July 10th, 2021
It was such a blessing to go out to Hearts Landing Ranch's summer movie night and have a little fun with art activities under the stars. It was truly magical to watch the kids create their own little clay birds inspired by the movie Rio, which they decorated with vibrant colored feathers, googly eyes, and tropical paint colors. Along with these projects, they were able to make earrings thanks to Kay's Golden State Jewelry, and paint sceneries for their new animal friends.

EVENT #3: HEARTS LANDING AND KEATON'S CANCER
Hearts Landing Ranch | April 10th, 2021
Made for More got the incredible opportunity to partner with Hearts Landing Ranch and Keaton's Child Cancer Alliance where we brought the "I Get You" Project back for another in-person event. These little warriors got away from their daily battles to ride horses, paint, draw, and journal - all stress relieving activities. Watching the smiles on these kids' faces come to life when they picked up their sparkly markers and paint filled brushes was one of the most rewarding experiences we have had. We are more than thankful to Hearts Landing and Keaton's for allowing us to meet some amazing souls.

EVENT #1: THE "I GET YOU" PROJECT (BEGINNING)
Ashton Park | November 14th, 2020
On Saturday, we introduced our "I Get You" Project to the world. This project aims to capture the perspectives and experiences that children all over the world had with COVID-19, as a form of stress relief from the madness going on in the world. We will eventually compile all the entries that we receive from our "I Get You" events into a book so that other children know that they too, can relieve themselves from the madness within by putting their energy into art work, writing, and crafts that allow them to do so. For this event, we reached out to children from our local community who utilized forms of artistic expression to summarize their feelings during the pandemic.
